Design & Proofing

Leave the graphics to us! If you're ready to move forward with your project but are stuck on the layout, WE CAN HELP! Wonderdrug's illustrious design troupe will bring your vision to life. Having us prepare your CD art will save you lots of frustration and lots of cash. We have a network of designers we recommend depending on your creative vision and budget. Just let us know.

As far as proofing for the artwork, we have become much more comfortable with .pdf proofing direct from the printer. You will see a final version of your artwork via email before it hits the presses.

However, if you are extra sensitive about your design, we can also do hard copy paper proofs for you here that we can both look at and discuss before we send off to the printer. Extra charges would incur if you desire paper proofing.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: The COLOR LASER COPY PROOFING is quite accurate, but it is important to note that 100% color matching is not guaranteed. Because of the inherent differences in digitally generated copies and offset printed materials, there is the possibility of some slight color drift between the proofs you see and the final printed folders and traycards you receive. If you are sensitive about the color of your print, there are additional levels of color-match proofing available at additional cost. Let us know if this is something that may be of interest to you.

GUIDELINES FOR PREPARING YOUR OWN GRAPHICS

ALL IMAGES must be scanned or created at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi (dots per inch).

All COLOR IMAGES must be CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black).

For BLACK & WHITE IMAGES, select GREYSCALE.

You should start by downloading the correct template for the layout you have chosen (See our ARTWORK SPECS page).   If you don't see the template for the design you want, contact us and we can supply it.   PAY CLOSE ATTENTION to SAFETY, CUT and BLEED lines on the template. Your artwork MUST conform to these specifications or it WILL NOT be suitable.

For print, vector-based applications (Illustrator, Quark) are preferable to bitmap-based apps (Photoshop, etc.).

The ONCD image is a silkscreen. A separate film and screen are needed for each of its component colors. This IS NOT the best means for recreating photo-realistic images. Keep in mind our specs. are 3-color or 5-color depending on which replication package you choose. The 3-color spec. should be separated into layers by color (SPOT or PANTONE color). If your ONCD image is full-color, it will be separated as CMYK + WHITE FLOOD (if required).

Please set up two folders when you save your files. One folder should contain the native files, images and fonts. The other folder should contain the native file FLATTENED, with all text converted to OUTLINES or PATHS. You can also make a HIGH RESOLUTION PDF if you like.   You can save this all to CDR or,
